Bhrigudev Ranade b. 2001

Bhrigudev Ranade is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores the visceral intersection of urban decay and spiritual ascension. A graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), where he was awarded the Distinguished Merit Scholarship, Bhrigu’s work is a rhythmic dialogue between the "Brain" of precision printmaking and the "Heart" of large scale mural painting. Having honed his technical rigor as an art handler at Gagosian, Bhrigu brings a sophisticated understanding of materiality to his practice, utilizing excavated mud, industrial enamel, and white clay to birth his signature "Monsters." His work has been recognized with first-place honors at Rachana Sansad and spans painting, sculpture, and printmaking, alongside his 1-of-1 clothing brand, “Chapes”. Currently based in Mumbai, Bhrigu explores the idea of materializing unseen worlds, constructing an immersive universe that challenges the boundaries between the grotesque and the divine.
