Mike Marshall is a UK-based artist living and working in London. Over the past 25 years he has exhibited widely, including at the Venice, Gwangju and Sydney Biennales, the Tate Gallery Triennale, and in numerous solo exhibitions at institutions such as Tate St Ives and Ikon Gallery, UK.
His work moves between video, photography, sound and painting, and is rooted in close observation of everyday environments. Often working with modest gestures and ordinary situations, he focuses on moments where things emerge, coalesce and fade—where perception slows and attention becomes heightened. Across different contexts, Marshall’s practice explores the relationship between contemplation and activity, technology and lived experience, and ecology understood not as background, but as an active field through which perception, thought and experience are continually formed.
